How To Say Hello In Klingon

If you want to say hello in Klingon then you can do so with the following phrase:

  • Hello – nuqneH (nukh-nekh)

The word ‘nuqneH’ is used to say hello in Klingon, however the literal translation is ‘what do you want?’.

It is used as a way to prompt someone to start a conversation but you should only use it when being approached, not when you are approaching someone.

Klingons get straight to the point and don’t waste time on greetings. They don’t really say hello, how are you etc.

Instead it’s customary to simply state your business or ask your question. Once you’ve finished with the conversation, you simply leave (no need to say goodbye).
