How To Say ‘How Are You?’ In Turkish

There are a few different ways to ask ‘how are you?’. 

This is one of the most common ways to ask ‘how are you?’ and can be used in most situations:

In more casual situations, such as with friends, you can say:

How are you?/What’s up?Naber?

If you want to be more polite, then you can say:

How are you?Nasilsiniz?

How To Respond To ‘How Are You?’ In Turkish

There are many different ways that you can reply to this question. Below are the most common responses to this question. I’ve also included how to say ‘thank you’ as it’s polite to thank someone if they ask how you are.

Pronunciation note: the letter ‘ş’ is pronounced ‘sh’. The letter ‘ğ’ is a silent letter so is not pronounced e.g. the word ‘değil’ below is pronounced ‘deh-eel’.
