Below are the 7 days of the week in Fijian.

  • Monday – Moniti (Mon-ee-tee)
  • Tuesday – Tusiti (Toos-ee-tee)
  • Wednesday – Vukelulu (Voo-keh-loo-loo)
  • Thursday – Lotulevu (Loh-too-leh-voo)

Below I have included some extra words related to days of the week in Fijian. It shows how to say today, tomorrow and yesterday in Fijian.

  • Today – Edaidai
  • Tomorrow – Ni mataka / Ena mataka
  • Yesterday – Ena noa

How To Say Times Of Day In Fijian

Below I have included some extra words related to times of the day in Fijian. It shows how to say morning, afternoon, evening and night in Fijian.

  • Morning – Mataka
  • Late morning to mid-afternoon – Sigalevu
  • Late afternoon to early evening – Yakavi
  • Night – Bogi
  • Day – Siga
  • Weekend – Na mua ni macawa
  • Week – Macawa

As you can see in Fijian, morning, afternoon and evening are different from English. The timings of these are different to European and American timings. 

In Fiji, they have ‘mataka’ which is morning, then ‘sigalevu’ which runs from late morning until mid-afternoon time. Then they have ‘yakavi’ which runs from late afternoon to early evening time.

These essential words will be very useful and are used all the time in day-to-day conversations.
